HHH, 1 volume pot, 1 tone pot, 5 way switch wiring help

Hello! I am new to soldering and guitar wiring, and need some help figuring out how to wire my new guitar. I have 2 SD alnico jazz HB for the neck and the bridge, and one cool rails for the center. The switch has all the poles on one side of the switch.

im hoping to have switches 2 and 4 split the humbuckers. Example: position 2 splits the top of the neck and bottom of the cool rails.

can someone help show me how this should be wired? I’m stuck and can’t find the right diagram on Seymour Duncan’s website, or anywhere online.

Welcome to the forum. If you only split the neck and bridge, this is do-able. If you want to switch the CR also, you'll need a Superswitch.

Edit: Also, can you post a pic of the switch? They aren't all created equal.

Thanks for the reply! Pics are attached of the pots, and switch.

i don’t want to split the CR yet, maybe in the future but want to keep it simple for now.

This is pretty straight forward if you aren't going to split the Cool Rails. If you decide to in the future, you'll need a Superswitch.

Man thank you so much!! Two more questions, and I’ll get to it.

the “out to vol/tone”: should that be two wires going on each pot? Or one to volume, then tone?
one the ground, I can just jump to the connection above, correct?

Yeah, sorta. It's just one "hot" wire that goes to the vol/tone pots, with one common ground. Gimme . . . a sec. I'll do a quik-'n-dirty diagram.

ArtieToo that would be super helpful, if it's not too much trouble.

If you dont want to build it, am I basically sending a wire to the volume, then from that same junction, to the tone? And then grounding both the volume pot and the tone pot, to the back of the pot?
