High output pickup question

Hi, I'm thinking of upgrading the pups in my basswood Ibanez to something a little hotter. I'm torn between the Seymour Duncan Distortion, Duncan Custom, Alternative 8 and Black Winter. I've got a peavey 6505 and the sound I'm aiming for is a metalcore tone like August Burns Red, Trivium and BMTH. Which of these pickups or sets of pickups would compliment a basswood body with Maple neck and rosewood fretboard? :)

Thanks

Re: High output pickup question

aside from output, what don't you like about your current pickups?

My current pups are lacking that chug sound and aggression, they don't have a big sound when I hit a palm mute or a chord. I have a Distortion in my mahogany Ibanez and it does a phenomenal job.

How well does the DD handle in basswood for lead and some rhythm? Just as basswood being a warm wood, I don't want overkill on the treble.

The DD doesn't care much what it sits in :D

It does have a high-mids screams to it, though. Does the guitar have a tremolo?

No it's a hard tail esq bridge. It's the Tight End R bridge, kind of an evertune look to it.
And that would be fantastic :) if that's the case the DD mayhem set would sound wonders :D

Re: High output pickup question

In a long scale hardtail the DD shouldn't come out too bright.

Re: High output pickup question

Personally I would start with the distortion as well (probably my favorite SD high-output bridge offering). Don't forget about the Invader too.
