High power speakers w/ low power amps?

Sorry for the noob question but I like the sounds i'm getting and just want to play it safe....

My 12" Speakers are EMI "Red, White & Blues" and also a "Texas Heat" rated for 120 watts and 150 watts respectively..... I'll usually run one at a time but soon (new cab on the way)I'll be able to run them simultaneously in series or parallel.

I drive them with a Mesa Subway Blues (20w and also at 10w w/ "half power")....Often I'll use an EPI Valve Jr which is only 5w as well.

QUESTION: Will any damage be done speakers of such a high capacity by running them at low power level?

Thanks!

no. you can run a 1000w guitar speaker with a 1w guitar amp and youll be fine.

That being said... you probably won't ever get the speaker near it's sweet spot, if it has one.

I did a back to back with a 25W greenback, and a 70W V30 in a 18 watt amp. The 25W speaker just seemed way more sensitive and alive with that particular amp.

It will not hurt the speaker at all. Al that happens is that you probably will not get any speaker break up is all. If that is important then you will not be as happy. If it isn't you will not notice. The more efficient the speaker the louder.

I for one, don't like speaker breakup at all, so if the speakers have more power, better :D

My amp head is 35wRMS, and I usually run it through my 300w 4x10 cab.
