HR101 is hotter than the Hot Rails. It sells as the "Scorcher" in the Duncan Performer series. It seems like a cool pickup, but the quality control might not be as tight as with real Duncans.

But..... if you're looking for single coil tone, I would say the Hot model (SSL-3) is the highest output.

Interesting, I thought the Quarter Pund was the hottest single for strat. :22:

How much hotter is the Hot model?

I got my facts from the Duncan spec page.

SSL-3 Hot Model = 16.4k "Very high output single coil rivaling a humbucker in output."

SSL-7 Quarter Pound Staggered Model = 14.8k "High output single coil with plenty of highs and punch."

Keep in mind that resistance does not equal output. The quarter pound has larger magnets, which may make up for the fewer coil winds. The output chart shows the same output, so I'm not sure...
