I have a HW1 strat from the batch right before it was remodeled with the 70's headstock. I love it and was glad to get it before the change. I am curious about the pickups, anybody know what they are? I heard that the post-remodeled pickups are a3. The pickups on mine seem fairly low output, but I like to slap on the tube screamer anyway and seem to work for me. I just can't seem to find any info about them other than the tag saying they are alnico.

They are the same pickups used on the Classic 70's series Mexican Strats. Low output, Alnico V mags.
