A little (or big) change can do wonders...

I built this guitar back in 2007 (named "Highway Star" for obvious reasons). I went with a typical look: pearloid white pickguard w/ black pickup covers.
Turns out it was a very uninspiring look.

Specs:

- Warmoth body in Candy Purple
- Warmoth 1/4-sawn maple neck (vintage modern, 6130 frets, CBS headstock)
- All Callaham hardware
- Callaham H/SRV pickups
- WD pickguard (flames)
- white pickup covers I had laying around

My apologies, but I prefer the original look. If you put the white knobs and pickup covers on the white pickguard it would be just spectacular.

But I admire your desire to think outside the box!

now you need star inlays so it can be called highway star, i suggest some star shaped stickers, you can buy them even on amazon

Stickers are for the cheap and i'm not a fan of the flames but other than that it looks mint.

I personally like the the original look better. For aesthetic reasons I would choose a darker fretboard wood.

Not usually one for Strats, but I like that, flames, stickers and all.

I actually liked the original better, but I don't mind the new version at all. That is one killer purple, no matter what stickers are on it. And absolutely, it needs a scalloped neck.

Love the purple, but I have to agree with the others that like the pearloid guard better with white pups and knobs, or black pearloid with black pups and knobs would be great too, guess I'm just not a flames guy. Maple neck looks awesome with the purple!

I too prefer the original look, but very cool it trips your trigger!!! I LOVE that purple!! I so bad wanted one of the Charvel Pro mods they had out in a similar color..
