hipshot hardtail bridge

Hi guys,

have any of you ever tried a guitar with the hipshot fixed bridge (stratlike). This thing is a huge block of turned brass chromed with solid steel saddles. I'd like to use one of these on a new warmoth body but warmoth says they won't drill for them. I think I could make it work, but the key is, has anyone tried it? Is it worth it over a standard fixed bridge?

Re: hipshot hardtail bridge

There's no special drilling required; the Hipshot hardtail aligns with the standard hardtail holes. It's my favorite hardtail bridge ever!

Re: hipshot hardtail bridge

thanks friend! Would that be the standard fender holes (requiring a trembucker) or the new, narrower hardtail holes (requiring a standard humbucker)?

Honestly, I have no idea. :laugh2: I just know that it fit perfectly on my Robert Cray strat.

If this is the critter you're talking about, I've heard only great things about them from guys over on the USA Custom Guitar Forum and elsewhere

I put one on my Mahogany Strat. Works great! And I didn't have to drill any holes, if memory serves me.

Re: hipshot hardtail bridge

yeah that's it! =) Thanks guys - if I hear right, the bridge itself is cut from a solid brass billet and the saddles themselves are stainless steel. I hear this thing gives good tone. I want to go and buy a hardtail body just to try it out...
