Hipshot Trilogy

Has anybody ever used a Hipshot Trilogy?

I play in multiple tunings and having one guitar that I can easily switch into different tunings could make life significantly easier. I have a different guitar for each tuning, in both electrics and acoustics. So you can see what a back breaking experience performing can be.

So if you have one, or know someone who has one, or have at least played a Trilogy-equiped guitar, I would appreciate some feedback. Do they work? Do they stay in tune? Would you recommend one, etc?

And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

Re: Hipshot Trilogy

I have one on a lapsteel with a roller nut. I may have to do a few minor touchups switching between some tunings, but it works as advertised. I've seen and heard them on dobros, they work well there too. A guitar neck isn't going to be that stiff and any flex could give you problems so I'm a little more skeptical about how useful one might be on a guitar, but I really can't say since I haven't played one with a Trilogy installed.

Roller nut. A Delrin or graphite nut might be a workable alternative. The Trilogy comes with an uncut graphite nut supplied, at least mine did.
