i picked up this pedal from another forum member a couple weeks ago, but my current overdrive / distortion needs are being handled by my guv'nor, and i'm not sure if / when i will get around to using this pedal, so i want to pass it on to someone who can put it to good use. this pedal is apparently super-rare, and its pretty difficult to find much information or clips on it. looks like it was only made in 2007 and was possibly a japan-exclusive thing (that could be inaccurate though). it came with a $300(!!!) price tag originally, so here's your chance to pick it up at a waaaay better price.
the best way i can describe this overdrive is that it sounds very "alive". its pretty broken up across the board, and it feels like its always just about to push itself to feedback in a way that it completely screams on notes. its a bit gritty and somewhat loose on the low-end. i think it would be really great for straight-up dirty rock and roll, but that's just not what i'm playing right now (i'm sure i'll kick myself in the future for getting rid of this).
it has an easily accessible 12ax7 inside, and i'm really blown away by the wide response range of different tubes. i tried 4 different tubes total, and each one had pretty distinct sonic differences. definitely a great pedal for experimenting / tweaking (especially if, like me, you've got a variety of spare 12ax7 / 12at7 / ecc83 tubes on hand).
this pedal is L O U D, so get ready for the thunder when you kick it on.
