is jackson dxmg worth buying? i need a good guitar under $500. i can't access the higher frets too well or have a trem on my les paul. can you guys recommend me some? i'm looking to play metal. hooked on metallica these days :smack:

Re: hmmm a jackson?

I just got an RG 1570 Ibanez which is awesome. I have seen them for under $400. Also ESP KH 203 plays nice and it has an LP body style if you are into that, also under $500.

Re: hmmm a jackson?

I don't like 'em, but my opinion doesn't count. If you like it, and it inspires you, go for it.

Re: hmmm a jackson?

I played a DKMG before and quiet liked it, Very nice, Dunno how that compares to the DXMG.

Re: hmmm a jackson?

the DKMG is my all time fav jacky axe (based on looks) trans black :32:

Re: hmmm a jackson?

IMHO, Jackson makes the best low-priced guitars for hard rock and metal. And almost all of them have trems... if you like it, I'd say its a great choice.

Re: hmmm a jackson?

I really haven't found a jackson I like for under a grand. The necks felt very awkward to me.

Re: hmmm a jackson?

hey guys thanks for all the input. you guys rock :headbang:

i have another question though... do the trems on the low end jacksons hold up well? what are the differences between an original floyd and a floyd licensed???

Re: hmmm a jackson?

Properly set up the JT-580 series units are fine for a while, opr even forever, depending on how much you use it.

An OFR or Schaller is MUCH better, quality- and tone-wise, but I could live with a 580 if I had to ;)

Re: hmmm a jackson?

I think a Jackson is a great choice, just because they are made for metal! Anything goes really.
