Hmmmm...my next pickup....hmmm...

So I just sold off my 59b. I need a new bridge pickup. I'm looking for a PAF-like tone, but I sold the 59 because it was single conductor. If I can get something a little warmer too, that would be nice. I'm also looking for something that will sound good split.

I'm thinking of a Custom (PAF like burning), Pearly Gates, PAF Pro :wall:, or if none of those are really warmer that a 59, just a 4-conductor version of the same.

i think a pearly gates would eb what you're looking for.

the custom may be too hot and the PAF pro.... well.... it's dimarzio!!!

The pearly gates has less bass and more mids than the 59, not exactly what I'd call warmer, rather like more biting. I'd think something like the Screamin' Demon would work for a higher output, warmer than a 59 sound because of that whole "less bite, more growl" thing.

I've gone and bought a CC. I have a ceramic magnet. I'm going to do some split/series wiring so no worries with cleans.

To tell you the truth, although I loved those PAF cleans the Demon and 59 gave me, I never had so much fun as I did with the Custom. The first Duncan I tried in my LP.

Time to reunite with my first love. (awwwwww)
