Holesaw Vs My thumb

Had a booboo yesterday. needed 5 stitches, it cut down to the tendon and hit an artery so i had the cool blood spurt for awhile.

Pictures never do things justice and it did look more gnarly when it wasn't clean. :nana: haha anyway.



Clean up in aisle one.

I was thinking about your dancing and got distracted. actually the reason it happened is because my drill press isn't bolted to the bench. I didn't notice it was right on the edge and the hole saw vibrations sent it off. New coming workshop means secured drill press. haha.

Yeah it turns out i use it all the time.

i don't have to do the dishes for a week or so which is ****ing almost worth it imo

Is that some down under method of training yourself to stop wrapping your thumb around the top of the fretboard?

If so, it seems a little extreme... now how are ya supposed to play a D/F# using all six strings? Sheesh! :nono: :smack:

Good thing you weren't facing away from the drill press when it fell. You might have sawed yourself a new A hole! :biglaugh:


Man that injury looks knarly. With a falling drill press, you're lucky it didn't take your thumb right off!

Yeah right oh mum! I'm just happy it stopped at the tendon. I was quite happy not to even go to hospital but apparently my wife insisted i do.

I'm the same way and my wife would've pitched a fit until I relented and went to the hospital. Probably for the best to get it checked out anyway (even though it's hard to admit). Wives are generally smarter than us when it comes to that sort of thing!

haha guys guys come on its just a few stitches. ONCE I BUILD MY new workshop i will bolt that ****ter down tight. rookie home builders i tell ya.

C'mon Raph, stop being a woosy la la, I thought you'd ripped off you arm at
the elbow and had to super glue it back on to hold it in place for you to get the
nail gun out and secure it back in place.
Jeez, a cuppa tea and a five minute break and you're back on the job!

Yeah thats not far off my old mans way of doing things. I have seen him with super gashes and he just tapes them up with masking tape and gets back to panel beating. HA!

Anyway i better go make my chimp monkey kids some dinner. With some luck one of them might get my band aid off my finger. ''Will'' chat soon. I did a pun ****!

A friend of mine is retired and is a hobby woodworker... A couple years ago, he wasn't paying attention while using a table saw and severed his left thumb. The thumb was saved but the knuckle wasn't, so he can no longer wrap his thumb over the top.

Power tools are dangerous things... If you're not careful, they'll bite you. Safety should be top priority...

You're lucky that's all that happened.
