Could be richlite.

Even their rosewood is now a veneer of at least two layers of rosewood. Who knows what they do with the thin stuff before it comes on, or what the lower layer looks like.

I am always willing to let a guitar manufacturer pick what they think is best, but Gibson is (a) deceiving people and (b) reports of fretboards that feel like crap roll in ever since woodgate. Some like the bakelite, sure.

I've been looking at those deals for the past couple of days. I've come pretty close a couple of times to pulling the trigger on that goldtop 12 string Les Paul.

Love that Natural back on the Goldtop!

Did you take this picture? I have some detailed pictures and specs on that black Les Paul 12 string that Perry is playing if you want to see them. I used to own the guitar.

I took that 12/11/2012 here at a show in Tampa.
