hi,

im looking for an audio interface (usb) that i can use to record guitar/bass directly into and also using a condenser mic for vocals and micing up an amp if i ever feel the need.

ive looked a tthe line6 toneport ux2, as with this you can also do the amp modelling and effects modelling where i can directly plug my guitar into it and find an amp/effect i like and rcord into cubase as it is.

OR

i can get an alesis multimix 8 which is a mixing desk with recording capabilities, however, with this...i want to know if there any way i can use amp modelling with otbher software?

how would i get the sound i want jsut using that alesis multimix...through pedals?, through the headphone socket of the amp?

im aware that i can record using the xlr inputs/condesner mics but this would be more effort and i would like to be able to record directly intothe interface and cubase either using my pedals asnd a software/amp modeller.

any advice?

thanks

Digi dseign Mbox mini. It comes with Pro tools LE. This and pro tools should allow you to do most anything a home recording system would need to do. The advantages of using Pro tools is most studios are using Pro tools, so you should be able to bring your files to any studio to do what you may need in the better studios.
