Hot Pearly Gates ?

Re: Hot Pearly Gates ?

Can't wait to hear what you think of it. Every custom shop pup I've had has been great. I've always been very curious about the S Deco. I hope you get the tone you're looking for out of it. Just a weird note from someone who notices weird things, but that top solder joint holding the cover on is a little sloppy for the custom shop. Not that it makes on snippet difference to the sound.

I wish the S Deco and and others were still on the site. Does anyone have a list of pickups that used to be on tone CS menu?

The George Lynch Super V is nowhere to be seen anymore. I guess they had to get rid of it to clear up room for all the other Lynch models.

Maybe they can still build something very close to it, I am not sure. It didn't seem like it was around long enough to really get out there.

Re: Hot Pearly Gates ?

i dont think it had that much extra wire, maybe a few hundred extra turns. a typical paf type bobbin might have 5000 turns of wire, adding 250 more would be noticable, adding 500 would change things are fair amount. there is a custom shop version of the pearly gates that is overwound compared to the production verion that ive heard is fatter and has a little more output.

the pg+ doesnt sound much like a pg to me but thats more to do with the a5 as dave mentioned

I have both a PG and a PG+ here and they measure identical DCR. No idea about the wire used, but it's possible the magnet could be the only difference.
