Re: Hot rail wired in parallel for middle/neck
I like the paralel idea and will give you a very simple mod suggestion that gives me a lot of variance in a neck cool rail...
(assuming your neck pup is also dual rail) wire all your pups up for spin a split OFF OF ONE POT- I bounced into this by accident because my Zion bardens happned to be wired this way and find the sounds incredible.
What you will get is one rail of each pup on in paralel, and the 5 way will pick which of the other coils get added in while the spin detirmeins how much of the 2nd rail is added- It reduces the power of the pups, and gives a really clear articulate sound much like a more extreme 2 or 4 position, but by using a littel bit of 2nd coil you get a beefier strat sound as well.
I love these sounds so much that I use them 90% of the time- But it's also easy to put a bypass in and I did this on my parker- If you do this you would still be able to go full power on the hot rails and it's been wonederful with my cool rails as it's a lot like a 'blower' swtich-
Again this is a really simple mod and glad to give you more if you are intersted-
