Hot rails or jb jr?

This is if I get an SSS strat. Itwould probs be alder with a rosewood board, maple neck, and floyd rose added on. 500K pots too.

I'd need the pup in the bridge, and for it to play Maiden, megadeth, rage against the machine, and AC/DC.

Any particular tonal differences between the two? other than the hot rails having more output. I can tell they soud different (at least on the SD audio samples), but just not what frequencies are affected more with each pup.

I'd say hot rails. I can tell you like metal and heavier sounds, which the hot rails does really well. I'd even suggest the hot rails even more if you're going to put a floyd in it. If for some reason the strat hot rails doesn't work for you, you can still try the tele hot rails in the bridge with very little mods.

Re: Hot rails or jb jr?

Thanks. I'm guessing the hot rails has a bit more bottom end than the jb jr? seeing as floyd roses eat up the bottom end of most pups/

JB jr. you don't need low end to play ACDC, Rage and Maiden. They are all midrange guitar players... a big full low end is for bassists and does NOTHING for a guitarist's tone.

A lot of lower mids, so it sits very well in the mix without battling a bass guitar in war, and sounds bassy enough to compensate for a floyd. Hot rails also works very well for stuff like Black Sabbath. Infact, the tone on the War Pigs sounds similar to me.
