Hot Rails or Little '59?

I need help choosing a pickup for my Fender Strat. Which pickup, Hot Rails or Little '59, will give heavier, richer, more sustained distortion sound? Do they sound similar enough to go with the one I think looks better (Little '59)?

The Hot Rails will have more output and push your amp harder if it's an overdriven tone you are after. Lew

Yeah, I agree with Lew. I have a Hot Rails in an old MIJ Strat and it rocks, thick, rich & kickin'. BTW, Welcome to the forum fenderlover, and what style Fender is that in your avatar? :laugh2:

Peace,

Re: Hot Rails or Little '59?

I just threw a Little 59 in my strat to cover heavy rock/punk sounds for a musical gig I'm doing(Hedwig and the Angry Inch). The 59 was totally the ticket. Granted I'm using a Mesa, so I've got plenty of gain, but the thing really rocks.

yeah i use a lil 59 in the bridge of my strat, and even tho i dont play much metal or anything heavier than AC/DC normally, I still feel that it still has room for heavier things - i'd say go with the 59 unless you're ONLY gonna use it for the heavier stuff

Thanks BlueSnMettle! By the way, my avatar is a picture of a Gibson Les Paul Classic (Vintage Sunburst)! I love Fenders, but I also Gibsons too!!

I use a hotrail in the bridge of my strat. And the distortion is alot it really does push your amp fast. I never played a lil 59 im curious does it match up to the 59 humbucker? Think of the hotrail and a mini invader pick up.
