Hi everyone,
Newbie question - sorry if this has been asked before.
I've just bought a SHR-1b and want to install this in the bridge position in my strat.
The neck and middle pickups are Tonerider City Limits and I have a Fishman Piezo bridge.
Current wiring is 1 x volume for magnetic pup's, 1 x tbx tone control wired to all 3 magnetic pup's, 1 x volume control for the piezo pups wired with a 3 way toggle switch for manetic only/mix piezo/magnetic/piezo only. The piezo volume replaced the second tone control on my strat.
The Tonerider web site gives the following information:
Polarity.
We follow the winding and polarity direction most common in the industry, to make it easier to mix our pickups with products from other manufacturers. All our Strat pickups are wound with the following polarity and winding direction:
- Neck and Bridge: South Pole Up / Clockwise Wind.
- Mid Pickup: North Pole Up / Counter-clockwise Wind
Wiring Overview:
The black wires represent electrical ground, and should be soldered to any ground point, most commonly the rear of the volume control pot. On the neck and bridge pickup, the white wire is the “hot” wire and should be connected to the correct lug on your five-way switch. Our middle pickups are “reverse-wound / reverse-polarity”, and this is represented by a yellow “hot”
wire, which should also be connected to the five-way switch.
I would like to use the 1 Humbucker, 2 Singles, 1 volume, 1 tone, 5 way, Auto-Split wiring diagram from the Seymour Duncan website so that:
1. The volume & tone controls work on all 5 positions
2. The Hot Rails coil splits automatically in switch position 4
Could anyone confirm that I have got this right please ?
Also could anyone confirm whether I should use black or green as the hot wire please ?
Many thanks.
