Hot stack for strat. Versatile?

Hello friends :)

I'm planning to buy hot stack for my strat (bridge position). Is it versatile pickup? And does it remain any of that single coil tone twang? I'm counting on you :)

i miss mine . .. .. .

yes its versatile.

to me it sounds like a single coil/p90/humbucker all smooshed into 1 pickup.

Yeah, I've had my eye on this one for a while as well. I really dig this pup as well as the Quarter-Pounder as far as looks are concerned. I've heard that both sound somewhat P-90.

I have thought QP also. It's wonderful sounding pup but it isn't hum cancelling.

The Hot Stacks are really good strat style pickups. They do cover a lot of ground well. It's been several years since I've had one installed but if remember correctly. They are very Humbucker/P90ish while full on w/ a little strat mixed in for good measure. And if you split them they retain more of a normal strat character. Of course it's not dead on vintage strat tone due to the mag and pole and there is still the 60 cycle hum when split, but it will get into that territory to.

I pretty sure that I had a whole set of these at one time and then switched to the hot stack in the bridge and 2 classic stacks in the neck/middle and that setup rocked IIRC.
