Hot Stack Plus First Impressions

I just installed a Hot Stack Plus in the bridge of my strat.

This pickup simply kicks ass!

It retains the clarity of a single coil but is thick and meaty.

Although its a hot pickup it matches pretty well with my Dimarzio Area 58 and 61.

I still have to play with the pickup height but so far so good.

Re: Hot Stack Plus First Impressions

Does it look like the old hot stack or like a standard SC? (Rail or polepieces)

Re: Hot Stack Plus First Impressions

It looks like a true single coil.

Ive always had humbuckers and this is my first single coil in the bridge.

Very powerful but very articulate.

Its undeniably a single coil but really has some balls.

Someone on the forum compared it to a hum cancelling SSL-3.

Re: Hot Stack Plus First Impressions

Ive never had a QP bridge.

Judging by the EQ on the tone chart the hot stack plus has a bit more mids and a bit less treble than the QP.

Re: Hot Stack Plus First Impressions

I dont think it would be the best choice for heavy palm mutes but for someone who wants to retain the single coil look and sound with less treble and more output than a traditional strat pickup this thing burns.

Re: Hot Stack Plus First Impressions

wow sounds great. I was looking for a pickup just like this but for a tele bridge. Maybe they will consider one for tele if the Strat version is a success?
