Hot Stacks & JB Jr ?

Hi !

I've got a Fender Strat Plus and I made changes.
I've got now 1 JB jr in bridge position and 2 Hot Stacks in middle and neck positions.
The volume pot is a 500K and the tone pots are 250K
The JB jr is pretty cool and responds very well cause I can split it with the audio pot (split for clean sound)
The Hot Stacks respond very well with clean sounds but with distortion, it seems to be a little flat... It lacks punch... especially with chords.
Do you have a solution for me?
What's the best schematic with these pickups ?

You might try 500K tone pots to liven up the whole guitar a little more.

do you have the guitar wired with the bridge pup not being attached to a tone pot?

I don't know if my bridge pickup is attached to a tone pot... I guess, if I remember well because it was a long time ago, that I put the JB Jr (bridge) in "standard series" http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/support/schematics/hr1.html
The tone pot is a TBX.

A guitar tech recently put the 2 Hot Stacks for neck and middle (The old ones were Gold Lace Sensor) and I tought that these pickups could do more with gain especially the neck one... It's hard to hold chords... The overall distortion sound is like playing in a sort of mud...

interesting. the hot stacks arent super high output, but last time i checked them out i thought they handled gain pretty well. how close are they to the strings?
did you change your amp settings to accomodate the new pups?

Have you tried turning the TBX up to 10? When set to the center detent or lower, the TBX has an 82k resistor to ground which can suck out the sound of passive pickups. Here is a modified TBX control that works well with passive pickups:

BTW do you have the EC mid boost circuit in this guitar?

I think you're right Jeremy (sorry Steve )
I lowered the pickups and especially on the bass sides. It's clearly better.
I used to have Lace Sensors very close to the strings...
