Hot Wire, Black or Green ?

Hi,
My guitar has a full set of Hot Rails. It was wired with the black wires on all pick ups grounded with the bare wire to the volume pot. I read that the green wires and bare wires should be grounded to a pot and the black wires to the 5 position switch. Which is correct for the strat with no other pups fitted just 3 x Hot Rails ?.

Cheers

The Black wire is the Hot. The bare and the Green wire should be soldered to the Volume pot. The Red and the White are soldered and taped together and is not hooked up to anything.

As long as all your pickups are wired with the blacks and bare wires to ground you are fine, no need to desolder and swap the wires. The norm is black hot but the way yours are wired you are fine, you won't gain anything by switching the wires.

Thanks, I have re-soldered the blacks to the switch and green and bare to earth, I joined and soldered the red and whites. Heat shrunk them all too and everything is great thanks !!!
