See, this is where I get confused. A lot of the Dimarzio diagrams for Hum/Area/Area show the HB green and the Area reds as hot.The Bridge humbucker should be wired in normal Dimarzio wiring:
Humbucker.Green + Bare to Ground.
Humbucker.Red to switch. (Hot)
Black + White soldered together.
Since the Area pickups are designed to go into Fender guitar, the polarity needs to be swapped when you put them into a HSS guitar. They are wired in the opposite polarity of what the instructions say for conventional single-coil installation.
For HSS guitar:
Area.Green to Switch (Hot)
Area.Red to Ground
Black + White soldered together.
