Hot wire for Dimarzio SC sized humbucker?

When wiring a Dimarzio SC sized humbucker in an HSS configuration, do I use the red or green wire as hot? I'm seeing some diagrams show green, others show red. The middle and neck pickups are Dimarzio Areas.

The Bridge humbucker should be wired in normal Dimarzio wiring:
Humbucker.Green + Bare to Ground.
Humbucker.Red to switch. (Hot)
Black + White soldered together.

Since the Area pickups are designed to go into Fender guitar, the polarity needs to be swapped when you put them into a HSS guitar. They are wired in the opposite polarity of what the instructions say for conventional single-coil installation.

For HSS guitar:
Area.Green to Switch (Hot)
Area.Red to Ground
Black + White soldered together.

See, this is where I get confused. A lot of the Dimarzio diagrams for Hum/Area/Area show the HB green and the Area reds as hot.

And if I wanted to wire them so the Tone Zone S is parallel in position 2, would I wire as is in this diagram?

Another option I'm considering is Tone Zone S split in the 2nd position. Is this diagram correct?

Yes. All those diagrams will work so you can take your pick! AFAIK they do not put incorrect diagrams on their webpage..

There is confusion because the pickup connections can be swapped around. As long as all pickups are connected in the same phase they will still operate correctly in all notch positions.

There are also two ways to wire the humbucker coils. The order of connection for the series humbucker coils is only important when you want to select coil tap option. So there are a usually a couple of different ways to get the same result.

I think you have done a good job of researching the diagrams so far.

All the Dimarzio Rails/Blade type mini pickups share the same electrical phase as their regular size humbuckers. Only the Areas (& maybe the VV singles ) need to have the hot & ground wires reversed when using them in a HSS setup that has a dimarzio humbucker in the bridge.

I emailed Dimarzio support, and they sent me these 2 diagrams. 1 with a switch for bridge series/parallel, and one for bridge always on. They confirmed that the Areas' hot would be green and the Tone Zone S' hot would be red.
