Hotter lipstick bass pickups

I'm looking for higher output Danelectro lipstick bass pups. The bass is a Jerry Jones model and the lipstick pups are lacking output. A moderate output boost would be ideal

Any of you guys have an idea you'd recommend?

I would measure the resistance of the existing pickups to see if the GFS are an upgrade.

This inquiry is for my brother who's trying to add some output to his main bass. Lipsticks, either bass or guitar, are the most mellow pickups ive ever played. He's told me he's gonna opt to have the pickup removed and rewound to fix the issue. These pickups are dirt cheap though

He could always boost them after the fact, too, with a preamp or a pedal.
