How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

Re: How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

She's at the top of my list, right next to Carrie Underwood.

Since you posted a Warmoth body, there's one on there I'd like to snag for a project. Might be able to since a buddy of mine is buying us parts to build a couple guitars.

That's a beautiful body.

Re: How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

No GAS for anything geetar gear for over years. I get stuff only when something is broken / to be fixed.

Because of some spines problems I can't lift things that well so I'll need a lighter/smaller 2x12" cab soon for gigs, maybe 2 of them to replace the big blocks onstage. I haven't decided yet but probably it will be a used 1936 or a Laney GS with replaced speakers.

I really wish Gibson would make a guitar with built in effects, computer chips, big battery compartments and in a god awful orange sparkle type finish. Charge $5k for it and I'd be even happier. Wait.....

How about self-tune to what ever tuning you choose to.

Re: How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

In 24 hours my main GAS lust for the last 14 years will ship. Now I just need to sell off everything I don't use.

Do to the season and expenses ... no more GAS for a while.

Re: How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

I'm quite content with my guitars and their properties at the moment, but something similar to them but completely custom built would be nice guitarwise. Maybe some day.

Ampwise I'd like a higher powered amp than my Univalve. Some modern 100 watter with plenty of clean headroom for pedals and some great standalone distortion. Maybe something like a Fryette Sig:X, Diezel VH4, Bogner Shiva, ENGL Invader, Mesa MarkV or such.

I hear ya on the cabs. Look at the Avatar 2x12's. They are really light loaded up. I have a vintage style 2x12 loaded with Celestion Classic Lead 80's and it's not very heavy to move around. I would imagine that their traditional models would be even lighter.

Yeah, that Caribbean Burst just makes my jaw drop. It looks awesome on quilt maple. Crazy thing is, before I saw this one in the showcase, I had spec'd out a body just like it but with a mahogany core body. I might just go with this one though.

Re: How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

Eastman Strings is a Canadian violin company that also makes mandolins, acoustic and jazz-oriented electric guitars.
Prices ranged, IIRC, from around $1000-$1500 for the signature models.
Awesome feel, even though I find the nut a little wide at 1.75".

All very woody feeling... excellent craftsmanship and finish.
It doesn't say on their website, but the Eastman rep I talked to said they were made in Korea and finished in Canada.

MM

Those are gorgeous!

Re: How about a nice G.A.S. thread!

I just had a Warmoth guitar built, and it turned out so well that if I had the extra cash I'd do another one. Here's the one I have:

and here is probably what I'd do next. This:
