I use an unpotted Burstbucker 3 in the bridge of a Paul, and I love it with a Marshall for classic metal. With a hot-ish PAF wind and an A2 magnet, I'm guessing it's somewhat Seth-esque. It will squeal easily if I play too loud with the JCM2000 half stack, but if I keep it sane, it does fine.

Dude from Iced Earth uses a 9.5K over wound PAF and has a pretty tight and articulate tone. WCR Icebucker is what he uses. Basically an asymetrical Godwood. Expensive.

I listened to that amp on James Lugo's Hi Gain amp shoot out on soudclick and it was one of my favorites along with the Soldano SLO.

More about the amp, pedal and eq settings I think than the pup in this case. Pups give you different color but you should be able to do what you listed without too much trouble.
