Re: How consistent are PRS guitars?
PRS QC is top notch. They're flawless instruments. The pair of CU24s that I owned in the late 90s where by far the best guitars that I'd ever played/owned up to that point. I've since owned guitars that were as nice, but you don't really get anything "nicer" than a PRS. I didn't care for the VB and HFS pickups at all (or the 5-way rotary switch). I found them to be... "uninspired" in the tone department. Very sterile for me. Were I to pickup another older model PRS like that, I swap the PUPs out with Duncans and go with a 3-way toggle, and push-pull tone control.
