Umm.. on a JTM45 your likely to get just mud that way. These are bass heavy amps. Very different from later plexis or JCM800's. Generally you can't run the bass much higher than 3. If you must, there's a problem. Running the bass too high and then trying to Eq the mids and the treble to balance could be part of the problem.
