how do i buy a replacement string tee?

Re: how do i buy a replacement string tee?

wouldn't that make the screw too long for the hole?

Look at the screw and the headstock, if it looks like it's too long use a shorter screw or put that little spacer on top of the string tree.

You can put it back like Fender does now if you want but I like the most break over angle possible...

Re: how do i buy a replacement string tee?

I guess what I was trying to say, string tree placement is important, that you cannot just find the spot on the neck with maximum break angle and put the string trees there, and that if you put the string trees to close to the nut, the break angle can be too severe, and you can get some muted harmonics and some thud or ping. You knew that. Maybe Astro doesnt, IDK.
Anyway, I'm no expert like you are obviously , just an amateur who dabbles in guitar tech , and when I see a chance to give some advice where it is not wanted, needed, or won't probably even be appreciated, sometimes I can't resist.

Its up to individual preference, but

more break angle = more downforce = more friction = more likelihood for possible tuning problems

Re: how do i buy a replacement string tee?

I ended up buying a set of black roller string trees.

It's alright... better than the rusty one my guitar used to have.

there seems to be less break angle but my B and e strings show no signs of buzz of noise when open.
