The SLL-1 units have six A5 rod magnets. These make the plain strings sound brighter than the similarly positioned A2 magnets in the Five-Twos. I would compare the difference to being like putting on new plain strings. Detectable but potentially annoying.

they arent all that different. like funk said, the wound strings will be very similar but the plain strings will be brighter. maybe good, maybe bad depending on what you are looking for. i like both sets
