How do you like this new BC Rich headstock? (AJ signature.)

Meh, indeed.

I don't mind looking at it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a guitar with one.

I dig that dude's playing, but he's too old for the whole Monster kid look.

Andy James is the king of mechanized, downtuned shred. I dig his playing too. I think he is in Five Finger Death Punch now. Whatever it takes to make a buck. Good for him.

Sleeker and more refined than their usual over-the-top stuff like the classic Widow headstock.

I bought a '94 MIJ NJ Warlock with a 6 in line headstock specifically to avoid those gaudy Widow headstocks. Only Dean does worse headstocks.

That said, this new BC Rich headstock could be used as a curb key to turn off your water main in an emergency. So...there's that.

Also, I find it amusing that the new marketing people at BC Rich have figured out that calling a guitar a "Bich" might not be a very PC thing to do anymore. They now call it a "B" apparently.

I find it well-intentioned but humorous.

It's great to see this classic brand on the rebound after 20 years of Kerry King tribal design starter pack guitars.

I mean, I do like him... but there's Jeff Loomis for that too.

Not the greatest thing I've ever seen. Plus I'd be worried about damage (splitting down the middle). Though it's good to see them still coming out with new stuff. My fave BC Rich headstock is there 6-in-line one tat's on a lot of Warlock's & my Ironbird. I just prefer 6-in-line headstocks..

As far as modern metal shredder's go....this is the man to beat for me. The dude has everything...plus individuality & feel. Kinda like like an updated Marty Friedman :bigthumb:

Sweet (sig?) Ibby S Series too! The man knows his shred guitar's :lmao:

..and then there's this guy @ 2:45...

I love the insane speed, feel, vibrato, bends and dark/eastern vibe both ^^ these dudes have...Andy James Pfffttt :D

OK, but Jeff Loomis plays circles around all those (IMO) LOL.

Plus he has way better tone than the second vid (IMO).

And better songwritting skills in general (IMO).

As much as I love Arch Enemy (or should I say, loved) he's really wasted there.

Loomis is awesome...if I were to think of my top 3 solo's in the last decade or two.they'd be (in order of preference " Seven Lands Of Sin" (Stephan Forte/Agaio..ie, the first guy I posted ..aka a masterpiece of brooding, dark insanely shreddy soloing) 2. The "Wargod"s" solo up there by Kristian NIemann (also of Therion/Sorcerer etc) who is a big influence/inspration for me along with Forte and "The river dragon has come" by Loomis which is also a spectacular solo...

I personally love Niemann's tone cuz it's unique (almost violin-like) as is his vibrato..
