How do you like this SG?

Originally this SG had gold pickup covers, but I put a set of chrome Probuckers 2 and 3 in it. I think it looks pretty good. Sounds amazing.

Was going to remove the gold covers from original ones but gave it a shot with chrome. These pickups are zebra underneath, so maybe I will try the zebra look later on.

Would a perloid or white pickguard look even better? I think it would tie in to the neck.

I think there is one color too many.

Haven't thought about changing the pickguard... but I am now. I do like perloid

I think you would have to change the knobs too.

Looks good. I don't mind the gold/chrome mix. It doesn't take long for gold pickup covers to wear off and start looking chrome anyway. It just looks played in, to me.

In the picture you can't really tell as much as in person. I think next time I change strings I will remove the covers. The zebra look will match the pickguard, rings, knobs, tuners, and the creme binding on the neck. I will post a picture when I do.

Funny thing- in the early 80s, Fender came out with a Strat that had all gold hardware, except the tuners.

It sounded and looked awesome. Too bad I couldn't get it, while it was produced and for sale... :/
