How do you mix your guitars at the sound desk?

For all the guitar "sound guys" out there.
I am finding that I have to turn down lots off bass and a little mids to get the tone of the guitar to cut through the mix coming out of the PA. Do you add additional EQ at the desk or switch EQ off altogether? I am happy with the sound coming out of my amp except there is not alot of bass but dont know how to capture that same sound through the PA without destorying it at the desk. Also I need to know how to get more volume from the desk with the desk"s EQ off.

Anyway how do you guys mix your guitars?

It kind of depends on how many guitars your mixing. Do you want to elaborate on how many tracks you're working with and the instrumentation thereof?
