How do you upload a solo?

I have tried uploading a very short guitar solo I just recorded. I've tried uploading it with Opera and Internet Explorer. Both failed.

I'm simply hitting the Manage Attachments button and choosing the file and hitting the upload button.

The .wav file says it's 5.5 MB.

Don't know what the hang up is.

um.... .wav files aren't for sending over the net in MOST situations.

You need to convert it to MP3. iTunes, Windows Media Player, or CDex work well for this.

Uploading it to where?If your trying to do it to here ,it won't happen.You need a host site like Sound Click or My Space or similar.Then you link it to a post here.Many of them require files to be in MP3 format ,as Supernosher suggested.

EG: My link at the bottom of my posts.

It says right in the Manage Extensions that you can upload .wav files. So I simply tried it. Or is there a difference between a wav and a .wav?

Anyway I'll try the soundclick thing.

To where? here? It won't happen.

Wav = .Wav. it is what is called the file type extension name.Wave files are the same also,just to confuse the issue.

If you can't upload on this site then why does it say under Manage Extensions things like upload file...

Browse for file...

Accepted file types wav...

I interpret that as being able to upload a .wav file right on this site.

If you can't then they need to make an adjustment.

If you're refferring to your browser settings, it has nothing to do with being able to upload any sound files here.That's for how your browser works.

The same is true for photos and videos.None of them can be uploaded and hosted here.You need to link such things from sites like Photobucket and Youtube,My Space etc.
There are exceptions for photos.Some can be copied and pasted into a thread from other sources.

I registered at Soundclick but I don't know how to upload anything on my page. I don't see any buttons or anything to click on.

Well I'll be effed,never took any notice of that before.
Any way if you click it it takes you to a list of file types and Max upload size limits.Viz-wav 488.3 KB [less than half a megabyte].5.5 meg is obviously too big.:cool2:

Once your logged into your Soundclick Account.Under-My Band/Artist Account ,click on Edit.It should take you to a page of many options.
Scroll down to Songs-Click Add Songs and follow the prompts.
