I love Wah drenched guitar sounds. I mean LOVE.
I actually "over use" my wah, but I don't do that 'bow-chika-bow' thing all the time like most people usually think.
I use it as a treble boost (forward), to get "underwater" or lowered volume type sounds (back), and to do the aforementioned 'note shaping' trumpet like tricks. I also use it as a 'filter' type effect too...you know, when you find a sweet spot (usually half-rocked) and leave it there.
One of my favorite records ever is Load. Kirk Hammet kills the damn wah on that record, but he sounds so great, and another one of my favorite guitar players, Adam Jones, uses the Wah extensively.
