How does this sound to you guys?

Alright, so I've got an Epi Korina Fying V with a Duncan Invader in the bridge, and the stock neck pup. Now, most of the things I play (ranges from Van Halen, to the Allman Bros., to Zakk Wylde) can all be done with the Invader. But for the real part of my idea..

I'm planning on just taking out the neck pup, and replacing the spare knob with an EMG Afterburner or an EMG Preamp Booster, hooked up to either the pup or the output. I've been doing some reasearch, and both can be used with passive pups, and they only cost around $30-$40.

I'll also have the pup selector switch wired to nothing in the Rhythm position, so I can get that stuttering effect when I need to, just by flicking the switch. Will that work, though?

What do you guys think of this? It'll probably get the versatility I want, and also keep the simplicity I'm after.

why would you need a booster with an invader?

if you take out the neck pickup, your bass response will get...ridiculous

keep that in mind, may wanna just disconnect the pickup & keep it in there

Just out of curiousity, why would removing the neck pickup increase the bass response?
