Re: How extensive is your string inventory?

I have 2 10-46 Elixer Optiweb packs and 2 9-46 Elixer optiweb packs. Covers my LP and 2 Ibanez.

They last a long time, so anything more and they might get old in the box. Basically 4 months a pack (I do keep elixer singles for the high strings which makes a pack last longer).

Re: How extensive is your string inventory?

I probably have about 50 sets. About 20 of them are my main string...Dunlop 10-52 and Wylde 10-46. But I've got a dozen other brands in various sizes (from 8-36 to 11-56) plus quite a few individual strings in lots of sizes to create custom sets (or to replace a single broken string...which is a very rare situation) and lots of acoustic strings, steel and nylon, and a couple sets of bass strings.

Re: How extensive is your string inventory?

I have a 9 -42 half wound fetish at the moment
All mine get the same strings

My acoustics have super light 10 - 46 elixir strings that I don't have spares for

I have some daddario round wound 9 - 42s
But just a few sets left over from my last fetish

No spare bass sets either

I have some bulk sets of phosphor bronze that I got over 20 years ago

I have some Xavier strings fro GFS that arrived rusty . Been trying to give them away
None wants them

Got a set of 10 - 38 Fender bullet strings from 30 years ago that are just hanging around

Not much

If you’re using the word ‘fetish’ correctly, please be careful.

"Fetish" is one of those words that tends to be used out of context.

:lmao:

I would have gone with "interest" "passion"or "obsession" or "Infatuation" personally -as they all can apply to non sexual desire for an inanimate object.

But then again, I'ver never tied my wanker off with a roundwound nickel #10 either

Maybe I'm missing out!

Re: How extensive is your string inventory?

Old post but i havent bought strings for more than 8 years now. Have two guitars that have 6 year old strings on them. Rusty but they never break.

I feel im being rude to them. For some reason i like how they sound old. Not much treble. All mids.
