How have I never heard of Carr Amps before? I have some new GAS now...

I was talking to a pedal steel player from a local band at a show last night and he mentioned he might be selling his Carr Slant 6V. I'm in the market for an amp, so as soon as I got home I looked them up. I don't know how I've never heard of these amps before, they are right up my alley (except for the price). I'm not so much interested in his Slant 6, but after looking at them, I really want a Rambler, too bad they are $2,500. Guess I better get to saving!

Anyone have any experience with Carr?

Yeah, I have had my hands in a few.
Steve DEFINITELY knows his way around an amp chassis.
There is not a "better" amp on the market. As ALWAYS.....it is just a matter of YOU bonding with a particular amp.
Go For It.!

In all honestly, I'll probably just buy a Super Sonic 22 this summer. I don't currently own a gigable amp, I've been borrowing my girlfriend's DC-5. I'm not super happy with it, it's really dark, and if the knobs aren't in the right spots, it just sounds flat. I had been thinking about saving up for a Mark V or something after the SS22, but after watching some youtube demos, I'll need to get my hands on a Carr to try before going that route.

I have a good friend who owns a hammerhead. It's a great sounding amp and a pretty stripped down design. The Slant 6V is suppose to be the best Marshall/Fender in one box. Personally I think it has its own flavor. I almost bought one from a friend but decided to pass on it. I also thought it was a bit overpriced. Great amp though. I would probably NOT use it for metal but for rock, blues, country it's a winner

CARR amps are great! You should also check out Swart amps if you dig the CARR ...

I have a Carr Sportsman. Love this amp for clean and pushed Fender tones!!

I have fond memories of playing through a Slant 6V. Believe me, I thought about buying one years ago and still wonder what stopped me from pulling the trigger. That, a Savage Blitz 50 and Matchless Chieftain were my favorites that I've demoed.
