How Have I Never Seen The Lizzy Hale Explorer Before?

Re: How Have I Never Seen The Lizzy Hale Explorer Before?

She's cute, and yeah, the guitar looks like a wedding cake.

Heh, that song started out and I was thinking "this might be cool, a chick Motörhead", kinda went downhill fast after that.

Ohhh yeah. I've heard that song on the radio before.

Not my thang but she sho' is fine.

Re: How Have I Never Seen The Lizzy Hale Explorer Before?

Gotta be honest: that thing is a stone's throw away from classy LPC vibe. I think that'd be one hell of a geet, with the right plastics. Too much gold for me.

I'd make a few cosmetic changes, but it's a great base. Pretty much my ideal Explorer look, with all the ES-355/Black Beauty-style appointments. I'd change to black pickup rings, gold bell knobs with pointers, black truss cover, keystone tuners, and a black or white pickguard. I'd prefer a black headstock, but white is cool.

I have a white Explorer that I am slowly converting to gold hardware. While I like white very much, I got the guitar mainly because it has an ebony fretboard. I plan on painting it black. But some day after that, I'd like to get another white Explorer, and this "Lizzy Hale" (who?) signature model might just be the one.

That guitar is looking effing nice with the gold on white!

I'd rock it. And why so much hate because she had Gibson build her a guitar? If you were in a position to have them build you "your perfect" guitar, wouldn't you?

They sound pretty damn good. Kind of a Godsmack / Shine Down vibe. As for the guitar, it looks cool but I prefer Explorers, Vs, and Fire Birds in natural best. Although the Vs that Micheal Schanker plays are freekin cool.

Yeah and he is good and really amusing to watch. (Arjay the drummer) Very animated and puts on a show himself by tossing the sticks in the air, playing with his feet propped up on the kit and stuff. (pretty simple kit too). I saw them at a festival here in town this past summer. (tons of bands and Korn was the closing act. five finger death punch, evanescence, pod, Lacuna coil, shinedown, Halestorm, just to name a few) They were good.. Had good Hooks in the songs, good guitar parts and something I LOVE that is missinging alot of music today. They looked like they were having ALOT of fun playing.. That means something to me. Music should be fun. She is a pretty good player, a good singer and kinda cute.. I met them after the show and the signed my cd. And were a nice bunch of kids. They love GIbsons and we talked about our explorers.. The other guitar player in the band had one of the limited run with the full mirror top that he played during the show. Lzzy is in the new Guitar One "whats in my Ipod" segment and she is holding the explorer that this thread is about..

I don't normally like gold but on this Explorer it looks good!

The multi-ply binding and matching headstock make it!

I'm just kidding. People building guitars for other people doesn't affect me, other than providing material for interweb banter.

Re: How Have I Never Seen The Lizzy Hale Explorer Before?

Hmm.. after a few videos, I know now why I´ve never seen this before or heard of her, just heard of "Halestorm" fleetingly and always thought it was just dumbasses that didn´t know the name was Alestorm (Badass rum-guzzling pirate metal). TBH she seems to be a pretty awesome front"man".... Seems like something I´ll have to check out live. Maybe grab her phone number while I´m alreads goofing around backstage :naughty:

I like some if it, but it´s pretty much straight up `80s hard rock /light metal a la Vixen, something that unfortunately rarely gets any attention these days, no matter how good it is. It bothers me more that they seem to be trying to be Evanescence in a few tracks, but unfortunately that´s become almost standard fare for heavier bands with female leads. Just like every metal band in the late 80s HAD to have a power ballad on the album, regardless of how good it was and how contradictory to the rest of the material it sounded. Gotta love the Music industry. ;)

*edit* Their "new" album from early last year seems to be a bit more to my liking....

^^ hat was pretty cool, a fet things made me LOL. Her "Guitar player posture" comment was awesome, and when he said he´s had his ´03 SG "forever" I almost LOLed... I´ve had my Dinky since ´96 and my V even since ´94, but I wouldn`t call that "forever" by any stretch. But to his credit, he´s 10-15 years younger than I am, and time compressed with age ;). Hell, if somebody says "10 years ago", I still think they`re talking about the mid 90s, and I start to think "Seriously? Has it really been that long already?" every time I realize I´ve been building guitars for 20 years....All feels like I just started a few years ago...

Re: How Have I Never Seen The Lizzy Hale Explorer Before?

Give me that set up in black and gold and I would hit it.

Music wise not my thing but as for her...yah I would hit it.
