For me mine has been my Number One since I bought it. It's been Seven years for me and my '03 Antigua Burst Strat.

Let's hear it!

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

Just depends on how long I've been playing that particular guitar that day.
Some days I'm into heavy
Others I'm into rock,
then the blues
etc

guitars suited to each

Ever since I finished building her a year ago. Im still finding stuff out about her and what works and what doesnt.

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

Since I got her over two years ago... you say "a guitar for heavy, one for blues, one for rock..." weeell a black Les Paul Custom handles it all easily :smokin:

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

August 27th 1996, but she`s gotten some good competition over the years.

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

My #1 changes from day to day. In fact, I believe there may be a correlation between what my #1 is and what beer I consumed last. :friday:

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

Since it was assembled in 1993. I give it a rest every now and then but when I need it to, it gets the call and never let's me down.

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

^^ Mine actually spends most of it´s time in the case these days. But when the others aren´t doing what I want, when I want, how I want, that case gets opened and they all run for the hills . ;)

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

Since I married her in 2003. Oh we were talking about guitars.

My go to guitar (the base line of measurement for all my other guitars) is my 19~ (don't know the year) Gibson Explorer. I call her Courtney, as that was the name of the girl I was dating when I got the guitar (she's now my beautiful wife who puts up with my insanity)) White with an ebony fretboard. I got her when I was 16, from a pawn shop for my birthday. My parents knew I wanted to move past the Squire Strat, so they took me to pick out a guitar, and it was one of those legendary "You see it, and you know that that's the one for you" kind of things. She's gotten her pups replaced with DD's and absolutely sings. That's the only guitar that doesn't see a case when it's not in use (except for travel).

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

^^ tell me the serial number and I´ll tell you the day, month and year she was made, in which factory, and which number she was on that day (or someone else that also knows Gibson numbers will, it´s actually fairly easy.) . ;)

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

It's happened gradually since I bought it in about 2005 or so. I had pretty high hopes for it, and though it took a trem upgrade and some minor butchery to make it happen, it's consistently been the go-to instrument that feel I can play anything on, and it also gives me a sound that I've come to think of as mine.

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

While I've only owned it for a year, I'm smitten by my '63 RI CS relic Fender Tele. It's been abused and there are some cosmetic issues (of my own doing), but the way it plays and sounds is not like any single coil guitar I've played. Been looking for the right single coil guitar for a long time and this thing just kinda fell into my lap one day and happened to be everything I could want out of a telecaster. I stopped looking at single coil guitars after I found it.

I've since added an ES-335 that I use for some particular tones, but the Tele is what I reach for the most. It just feels perfect and for most of the stuff I write I find I like the single coil thing better.

My '05 Squier Strat has been my #1 since I bought him/started playing in April 2011. Great tone, feels fantastic; just an all around great guitar. Though I may have to get back to you once I get a chance to play around with the Razorback I'm gonna get.

+1. I rotate thru my guitars, and pick whatever I'm in the mood for. For me, playing the same guitar all the time is a horrible rut to avoid at all costs. It also keeps you flexible to use a variety of body styles and neck thicknesses. Some guys get so used to one guitar that they have trouble playing anything else. That's a mistake.

I don't wanna know. I've seen plenty of serial number data bases, and it's somewhere in the late 80's. Other than that, I just don't care.

here's a pic of her though.

My go gitter is my solid swampash quatersawn maple neck tele. Solid since I made it in 72. Yo wanna tawk rawk squawk? LOL. I have 10 girls in my stable but I always seem to pick-up Louise, my first love. I play a lot of old stones and hippie shiite, airplane, tuna,NO DEAD,Steve Miller..LOVE my tele!

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

My number 1 is my PRS Torero which I bought almost 2 years ago. I weedeated (weedwhacked) from early May to July to buy it. It was awesome because someone organizing the 4th of July bonuses for the place I work at accidentally gave everybody bonuses doubling their paycheck. That bonus got me my guitar a pay period earlier than expected. It feels better than any other guitar I've played.

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

Over 19 years and counting. :)

Re: How long has you Number One been your Number one?

Mine is the 07 PRS Custom 24 I bought last year ( November 2011) and has been since I got her.
