How loud are the vintage rails/duckbuckers really?

According to the output ratings on the website, the vintage rails should have more output than the cool rails neck. According to the same ratings the SSL-6 should also be louder than the cool rails. But I know it's not true. Not even close! So, how loud are the vintage rails/duckbuckers really? Is there a big volume drop if they're in the middle position with a hot rails bridge and a cool rails neck?

There is, yeah. Certainly with 3 Duckbuckers or Vintage Rails, you don't notice this. But with higher output pickups like the Hot Rails, you certainly do. If you are going for a volume boost when you sitch to the Hot Rails, then it is perfect. If you want a volume balance, probably not.

So what (pickup that sounds like a) single coil doesn't have a volume drop in between a hot rails bridge and cool rails neck?

Most likely, a Quarter Pound.
