Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

Got the slow Loris (madbean rat-alike circuit) populated the other day, along with the Jack orman booster/fulltone fat boost/ madbean fat boostered circuit. Need to drill the enclosure but when it's up and running it will be an 18v rat with selectable diodes and a boost pedal strapped on the end.

So right now I have that, the madbean flabulanche, the madbean 8ball, the General guitar gadgets bluesbreaker, a heavily modded boss SD-1, a rimrock mythical overdrive (klone), a dual boost pedal (one side is the runoffgroove omega which is a jfet-based treble booster, and one half madbean fatpants with added compression) and the rullywow queen of bone (king of tone with onboard charge pump for 18v internal operation)

The goal is to have one drive pedal lol... The reality is I have a constantly rotating inventory of pedal projects to satisfy my boost/drive obsession haha

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

Have you tried the Wampler Tweed 57?

I tried it once and wasn't impressed, but I was in a hurry that day and didn't really get to give it a full test. I'm told the Wampler Plexi-drive might work too.

The quest continues...

Bearfoot Honey Bee Overdrive or the Mad Professor Sweet Honey overdrive. Not sure how they will stack up with the Mark V mode, but they both sound very Tweedy to me!

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

Before I got into tube amps and began playing shows with the band (years ago) I used a toneblaster on the clean channel with a Line 6 uber metal distortion pedal. to this day..I still think it was the best pedal for distortion I have ever owned. you could Dial in just about ANY sound from it AAAND it had a built in noise gate. I thought it was the best thing in the world haha, until I got into tube amps and hush pedals lol. I also owned the BOSS mega distortion and the Behringer ultra metal pedal..which was junk lol.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

My Marshall JVM has a footswitch. OD channel, gain on 4, and Slay away.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

Zakk Wylde OD always on, and a TS808 for boosting leads and whatnot. I do have a Fuzz Face as well but I really never touch it.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

I've got two MXR Classic Overdrives and a Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe on my board.

Bumping up...

I've only been using my small board over the past year, but I still come back to the same strategy.

-Fuzz (one of the mini Fuzz Faces)
-Overdrive (Full Drive 2)
-Distortion (Pinnacle)

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

I own 3 but use 1 in this current band. The Ibanez TS9. Don't really need much if I'm using a 6505+ but I run it on the lead channel so it tightens up that flubbiness its known for.

Also have a Boss SD-1 and a Wampler Triple Wreck that I don't really use anymore.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

I got rid of a few pedals recently, but let's see how I do:

EHX Soul Food
Boss '59 Bassman
DOD 250 Preamp/Overdrive reissue
Fulltone OCD
Danelectro Pastrami
Seymour Duncan Powergrid
Ibanez MS-10 Metal Charger
Mesa Throttle Box
Carl Martin PlexiTone
Danelectro Cool Cat Metal
ProCo Rat 2

I could probably use a Tubs Creamer and something SLO-flavored. A fuzz or two, a Bogner, and maybe one more random pedal to round things out.

I have 5 at the moment. I'd have more if I didn't have to bump off other pedals to do it. I need a bigger board.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

How many do we own, or how many do we use at one time, or over the course of a gig?

"On your main pedalboard, rig or setup how many drive pedals do you use? Overdrive, distortion, fuzz, etc. Not how many are in the closet or how many you connected one time to see what would happen, what is your typical setup and how do you use them"

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

have 8 but use one at a time when needing color or compression or boost

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

My current pedalboard, rearranged the other night. Boss OD-2 was added, phase shifter removed to make room for it. Marshall GV-2 between wah and Volume is going as I don't care for it there and will be added next time I reorganize or when I get a bigger board along with the Vox Satchurator.

Does a boost count?

EP booster

LovePedal white Kanji
Lovepedal black Kanji
Maxon OD 820
Redwitch Fuzz God
Lovepedal Kalamazoo
Way Huge Overrated special
Bogner Ecstasy Red

They aren't always on and they aren't all stacked.

This is when I running one board and splitting the signal two several amps.

Oh.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

I can do only so much with the hours in a day.

Re: How many Drive/Gain/Fuzz/Distortion pedals do you use?

I like my options. I've been in the loooong process of building up my selection of guitars and pedals to make sure I can get *exactly* the sounds I want, when I want - not making do with what I have on hand, then trying to fake it with processing.

Which basically means buy a few things, play 'em, learn 'em, and see how they change the palette.

Right now, I'm using two MXRs (a Classic Overdrive, and a Classic Distortion), a 7XL Pi Fuzz (made by a local guy, John McNeece - sounds awesome!), a Joyo Baby Boom fuzz, an EH LPB-1... I think that's it, though I have an Ibanez TS-5 with a broken switch I'm thinking of putting into a metal case and lightly modding... All go into an Egnater Tweaker, which - while I'm happy with the variety of gain voices I have on hand - seems to really be lacking bass response.

I've since added a MojoMojo, a Dark Matter, and a Bass Soul Food...
