i've owned 3 basses since i was a bassist before a guitarist. but i just sold them all so i'm left with my drummers sammik that he let me keep at my house. i do however still own 2 bass amps i have no use for lol. i'm tempted to pick up a nice 5 string schecter bass but i am putting it off since it won't get much use.

I'm really more of a bassist who owns guitars, does that count? I've only just recently gotten more serious about guitars and guitar gear, and like a few others here, I started on bass before progressing to guitar.
current workhorses are a 2000 MIA jazz bass and a 1958 Kay upright bass. both considerably beat up. both comfy as hell, and sound wonderful.
I'm really more of a bassist who owns guitars, does that count? I've only just recently gotten more serious about guitars and guitar gear, and like a few others here, I started on bass before progressing to guitar.

i play a j bass i think its a 93 or 95 i cant remember thats been to hell and back basically i used in series with a carvin bass stack a fender bassman and crate guitar amp for lighter modulated sounds as well as distortion on the 2 smaller amps and got a sound that my friends couldnt really figure since they werent allowed near my rig or to look at my settings.the things hold up well even with the abuse mines taken including a fire and my fits of rage here and there

Thinking about this its funny how things havent changed... When I started playing it was on guitar but i picked up bass so I could join a band... I got a lacewood Jackson Futura out of a pawn shop for a decent deal (the only decent deal i've ever got at a pawn shop) Around here bassists are rare... they tend to be they guy who hung around with the guys in the band and they talked him/her into playing it. So if i'm between bands or just looking for a side project I'll pull out the bass... Even the band i'm in right now technically I'm the guitarist I did all the guitar work on our recordings but I also played the bass on them too...

I use to be a full time bass player a loooong time ago. Still have my Fender Jazz bass. The body is a '73, a Kubiki neck from '85, Badass bridge from '86 and EMG's from about '88. Still got my SVT head that's from about '76. Have'nt played it all in so long I think I forgot what it's like.

I played bass in a band a few years ago. I only played cause they were friends and needed a bassist... but I absolutely hated playing it and the bass I was using sucked. it was a cheap Ibanez gsr200. Crappy bass and crappy tone. I sold that thing recently.... never again.....
