I wonder if a clean boost or a mild OD pedal might get you the extra push you need?
Plus yeah, the right pickup as well.
Was Billie Joe using a JB?
I’m a Greenday fan but I really don’t know much about his rig.

Hmm maybe, I have a TS9, and an SD-1 as OD pedals. He doesn't use any pedals though to boost his amps its all from the 2 modded Marshall amps.

He used the Bill Lawrence 500 one originally and switched to a JB after I think. I do like the sound of the JB SH-4 though and its what is in the strat in the video I linked up.

Try boosting your amp with one of those pedals. Gain low-ish and output high. Might get you close enough. [emoji16]
