Likely yours were Korean made not Japanese. Not a lot of recent Japanese made Epi's in the US unless you count the Elite/Elitist line. The Japanese versions are made in the same factory the Orville lines were made in, they changed over to Epi a few years back.

OH... Yep they were both Korean one was a Limited beautiful.

I hemmed and hawed about the same thing for a long while; I wanted a Gibson Les Paul Custom but couldn't justify the cash even though I had it. All the ones I played just didn't play like what I would expect a guitar of that sort of value to be worth.

I pulled the trigger on a 70's made Greco for under 5 bills. I figured at worst it would play like a typical $500 Les Paul. Boy, was I wrong. The silly thing played like the Customs I was playing priced 4x as much.

I liked it so much I picked up a second one. For the cost of a Studio new I got two Customs that I'll gladly gig out with and not worry about. The sound great, feel great and look great. They're probably the best deals in Les Pauls right now; the components have aged beautifully.

I own a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe; it's a great guitar. Had I not gotten a bargain on it I probably wouldn't have bought it. It sounds excellent. I can say that the Grecos are just as nice in all aspects.

Wait until the new year and then get yourself a proper one. I am sure you will do your research and will find one that will suit you down to the ground.

Gibby LPs are a plenty and you will know which one will suit you as it will talk to you. I would offer to sell you my LPs but they aint for sale!!
