how much for a nut replacement?

Getting a new nut this weekend...can't stand it anymore.

Flagstaff shop said about $40
Prescott shop hasn't called me back yet.

Any ideas what but I should get?
Graphtech? Bone? Make it quick. I might be out the door in under an hour

Well conidering your guitar doesn't have a whammy you could just go with bone or Corian. Either will work fine, but if you are putting a nut with a whammy the graphite works really well in allowing the strings to move freely without binding so your guitar will stay in tune better.
