How much high-end will I kill if I...

How much of the high frequencies will I kill if I snip the wires to my tweeter in my Ampeg BA-210SP combo. I hate not being able to use distortion with it but I like my clean tone to be rather bright. Thanks!

Just some sibilance. The cross-over point is at 10khz.
You could always just add a switch, and switch it in and out as needed.

I thought about that but Radio Shack was of absolutely no help...told me that it's too high of voltage. Could you possibly find me a link to a switch that'd work?

Never, ever, ever ask Radio Shack personel for technical advice. :laugh2:
......

Best advice I´ve read on the board, add GC staff to that and I´ll say EVER :bigok:

Í got a chance to visit both while in the states a few years back, multiple locations. I wasn´t particularly impressed ;)

This is a true story while I was looking at some parts in a Radio Shack:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Customer: (with young son) We have an old Lionel train transformer that doesn't have a power switch. We don't want to keep unplugging it from the wall. Its a 12 volt transformer, so we want this 12-volt switch, right?

RS guy: yes.

Customer: The power cord has two wires - this has two terminals, so I just connect the two to each, right?

RS guy: yes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This salesman would have killed these two. I quietly showed them what they really needed after the salesman left. ;)
