How much of a pain is it to bias your amp?

Keep in mind I don't mean the one I currently have. I am looking at a VHT and I was wondering.

It's not bad at all. The pain part comes with removing the chassis and putting it back! :laugh2:

it's not difficult if the amp has a bias pot, and the circuit is designed to be biased - in other words, not a fixed bias design, and provided you have a bias tool

however, you should know what you're doing before attempting to bias

I'd suggest looking at some of the tech info available on Aiken amps site

The new Traynor YCV's are auto-biasing!

Just to clarify, I believe Curly refers to non-adjustable bias (as on Boogies and many Fenders). The term "fixed bias" is also used to differentiate from cathode biased.
